FRESH LOOK FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2019
Do you ever feel like branding and marketing seem to overlap so much, that the lines become blurred when you consider which areas to focus on for your business needs? In what used to be a series of silos within a company- branding pertained to the logo, color scheme, and overall feel of a company’s message. Marketing, on the other hand, centered more around gaining awareness of a company through as many manual and digital avenues as possible.
It’s no longer about questioning which of these reigns supreme. Now, the focus is how to facilitate the dance between good branding and good marketing- always maintaining alignment so your customers gain trust in your products and services. In order to achieve the dance between these fraternal twins, we’re going to take a brief moment to define branding and marketing so you have a better understanding of how to make them harmonize to meet your goals.
Branding
Branding represents the values, culture, uniqueness, and purpose behind your business. While you have a product or service that meets a particular need within an industry, there’s much more importance placed on a customer’s experience when they interface with your brand. It doesn’t just lie in the beautiful graphics in your logo or website, but also in your company’s operations and culture. Branding isn’t about the tactical side of getting your message out there- it’s about the message itself.
Marketing
Marketing pertains to the ways in which you deliver your brand’s message. The marketing landscape is always changing, growing with new technologies, new platforms, and new audiences. This is the primary difference between the two: strategies change, but your company’s values and mission transcend those shifts.
In the absence of branding, you still have an ability to market your products and services. However, if you’re looking for strong foundations that are proven to achieve long-term success, your brand will provide the solid framework you need.
This month, we have three websites launched by Jason Hunter Design to share their goals along with their refreshed look! Check out what we have for you this month!
